Data Protection RegistrationData Protection Registration
The Data Protection Act 1998 came into force on 1 March 2000. Under the Data Protection Act, anyone processing personal information must comply with eight principles of good information handling. The eight principles state that the data must be:

fairly and lawfully processed;

processed for limited purposes;

adequate, relevant and not excessive;

accurate and up to date;

not kept longer than necessary;

processed in accordance with the individual's rights;
secure;

not transferred to countries outside the European Economic area, unless there is adequate protection.

We can help you with your submission to the Information Commissioner and take the work out of the form filling. You can order on line by clicking the banner on the right. If this is your first submission you will be charged a total of £99. This includes all your fees for the first year of registration. For renewals we charge an all inclusive fee of £69.

Once you have ordered the service through our online registration system we will then send you by email a form to fill in - we have made this as simple as possible and requires very short answers and the use of tick boxes. Simply send that back to us and we will do the rest.
